Praxidese Khatembi, an aspiring Member of Parliament for Shinyalu Constituency, has positioned her political bid around a message of hope, inclusive leadership and transformative development.
Khatembi has been described by her supporters as the “mother of Shinyalu,” “mother of good governance” and “mother of development,” as she seeks to rally residents behind her vision for the constituency.Speaking to the residents of Shinyalu, Khatembi said her leadership would focus on ensuring that residents have a voice in decisions affecting their lives while advocating for resources and development projects for the constituency.
She said her political journey was anchored on service, determination and the desire to see every household benefit from development.
“My leadership represents hope, progress, inclusivity, and a future where every resident of Shinyalu has a voice,” Khatembi said.
She added that her vision was to build a constituency where development is people-centred and no household is left behind.
On addressing what she described as the resilience of Shinyalu residents, Khatembi invoked the imagery of a farmer patiently waiting for a harvest, urging residents to remain united and committed to the pursuit of better leadership.
She said the challenges facing the constituency should not discourage residents from demanding better services and development.
