Leaders allied to President William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza administration and the Broad-Based Government have launched a fresh political offensive against the opposition, telling Kenyans to reject leaders they accuse of attempting to undermine the government’s development agenda.
National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula and President Ruto’s Personal Aide Farouk Kibet led the charge during an infrastructure and empowerment drive at Eshiandukusi Senior School, where they urged residents to stand firmly with President Ruto ahead of the 2027 General Election.
The leaders argued that the Kenya Kwanza administration had delivered on its promises and deserved another term to complete the development programmes currently underway across the country.
Wetang’ula told residents that President Ruto’s government had remained focused on implementing its manifesto despite sustained criticism from opposition leaders. The Speaker dismissed what he termed endless political gossip and criticism from government opponents, insisting that development projects across the country were there for everyone to see.

According to Wetang’ula, Kenyans should judge the government based on its record rather than political propaganda from leaders seeking to discredit President Ruto.
“The government of President Ruto has delivered according to its manifesto. We ask everyone to affiliate with it so that we can continue benefiting from the development programmes being implemented,” Wetang’ula said.
The Speaker urged residents to support the government, arguing that cooperation with the administration would ensure the continued flow of development projects and empowerment programmes.Wetang’ula further maintained that opposition politicians had failed to provide a convincing alternative agenda, choosing instead to spend their time attacking projects initiated by the government.
“There is no need for people to continue gossiping about development when the projects are already on the ground. What Kenyans need is progress, not endless political noise,” Wetang’ula said.
Farouk Kibet echoed the Speaker’s sentiments and launched a blistering attack on opposition leaders, accusing them of working to frustrate programmes that are benefiting ordinary Kenyans.
The President’s powerful aide told residents to be careful about leaders who, according to him, have no clear development agenda but are determined to sabotage the government.
Farouk specifically took aim at the Wamunyoro political camp and its allies, claiming that their leaders were not interested in supporting programmes aimed at improving the lives of Kenyans.
“Ignore Wamunyoro and his counterparts. They don’t want you to benefit from this government,” Farouk declared.
He argued that Kenyans should reject leaders whose politics, he claimed, were centred on opposition and criticism without presenting practical solutions to the challenges facing the country.
“Those who have no agenda should not be allowed to distract Kenyans. Their intention is to destroy and sabotage what this government is building for the people,” Farouk said.

The fiery remarks signalled yet another escalation in the political battle between President Ruto’s allies and leaders associated with the Opposition. As the country slowly moves towards the 2027 General Election, political temperatures are rising, with Kenya Kwanza leaders now openly mobilising support for President Ruto’s re-election bid.
Wetang’ula and Farouk’s message was clear, ignore the opposition, defend the government’s development record and rally behind President Ruto for a second term. With the battle for the political future of the country gathering momentum, the war for 2027 has undoubtedly begun.
