Residents from Mulimani and Namunyiri areas gathered at Machine Shoppimg Centre in Sinoko Ward on 17th September 2026 for a crucial security baraza aimed at addressing security concerns, development and the welfare of the community.The meeting brought together Senior Assistant Chief Carolyn Vugutsa, Assistant Chief Peter Wangila and village administrators from the two areas.

Speaking during the baraza, Vugutsa called on residents to take an active role in safeguarding their communities, stressing that security cannot be left to the administration alone.

“Security starts with you and me. Let’s pull together to ensure our villages are safe,” Vugutsa said.

Her remarks came as local leaders urged residents to strengthen cooperation with the administration by reporting suspicious activities and individuals linked to crime.

Mulimani Assistant Chief Peter Wangila said the administration had made efforts to address security challenges but warned that more work remained to be done.

“As the administration, we have tried our best, but it is not over. Residents should report those gangs to us so that we can arrest them,” Wangila said.

The security baraza provided residents with an opportunity to raise concerns affecting their communities and engage local administrators on matters of security and development.

Representatives from Kongoni Technical and Vocational College (Kongoni TVC) also attended the meeting as part of the September student registration drive.

The representatives engaged residents and prospective students, providing information on the various technical and vocational training opportunities available at the institution.

The meeting also brought together local leaders, residents and education stakeholders to share information, discuss community challenges and strengthen cooperation.Leaders emphasised the importance of collaboration between residents and the local administration in promoting security, community development and access to education and skills-training opportunities for young people.
