By KenyasToday Reporter
Fresh questions have emerged over the circumstances that left a 16-year-old girl alone at her family home on the night she allegedly became a victim of defilement involving Lumakanda OCS Wycliffe Kwendo.
The allegations against the senior police officer are being investigated, but the events leading to the girl being left alone have now emerged as a critical part of the unfolding case.
During an interview with journalists on Monday, the family struggled to explain why they left the minor behind after Kwendo allegedly instructed them to move to a nearby bar.

The family said they were allegedly told that a multi-agency security operation was about to be conducted in the Kambi Moto area of Kipkaren River.
They reportedly left the homestead, but the 16-year-old remained behind alone. That decision has raised difficult questions: Why was the minor left alone at night?
Why was the family asked to leave the homestead? And what exactly were they told about the alleged security operation?
Journalists pressed the family over the circumstances surrounding their departure, particularly given the claim that the area was about to be subjected to a security operation.
The questions have added another layer to a case that has already attracted attention, with investigators expected to establish a clear timeline of events before, during and after the alleged incident. The allegations against Kwendo remain allegations and have not been proven in court.
The officer is entitled to due process and the presumption of innocence as investigations into the matter continue.Authorities are expected to establish what happened that night, who was present, what instructions were given to the family and how the minor came to be alone at the homestead.
