Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa has wished candidates across the county success in their national examinations, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to supporting education and improving learning outcomes.

Speaking in Lugari Sub-County after attending a Sunday service at Marakusi Catholic Church, Barasa said his administration remained committed to ensuring learners received the support they needed to pursue their academic ambitions.

“Our commitment as a county government remains to support education and improve learning outcomes by ensuring learners have the opportunity to access education and achieve their academic aspirations,” the governor said.

Barasa also urged parents and guardians to take responsibility for children who have closed school for the long holidays, calling on them to prioritise their safety, provide guidance and keep them engaged in constructive activities.

“Parents and guardians have a critical role to play in ensuring children remain safe, disciplined and engaged in meaningful activities throughout the holiday period,” he said.

The governor encouraged families to use the school break to guide children, reinforce positive values and protect them from activities that could compromise their safety and wellbeing.

His message comes as education stakeholders continue to emphasize the importance of supporting candidates during the national examination period while ensuring learners remain protected during school holidays.
