Khwisero MP Christopher Aseka has issued a stern warning to illicit alcohol brewers and sellers in the constituency, vowing to work with security agencies to crack down on the trade blamed for destroying lives, marriages and the dreams of young people.

Speaking in his constituency on Thursday, Aseka said he had teamed up with local authorities, led by the area Deputy County Commissioner, to identify and arrest individuals involved in brewing and selling illicit alcoholic drinks.
“I will crash you,” Aseka warned, as he declared that those involved in the illegal trade would face action.
The MP urged residents to report individuals suspected of selling illicit brews, particularly to young people, saying community cooperation was crucial in tackling the problem.
Aseka said illicit alcohol had become a major concern in villages across the constituency, with some residents allegedly spending much of their time drinking instead of working and supporting their families.

He said the consequences were being felt inside homes, with some women complaining about the impact of excessive drinking on their marriages.
“I have received complaints that some of you men do not give women their conjugal rights due to drunkenness. Your marriage will collapse unless you stop,” Aseka said.
The MP urged residents struggling with alcohol abuse to seek help and abandon excessive drinking, while calling on community members to support efforts aimed at protecting young people from illicit brews.He said the fight against illicit alcohol would require cooperation between residents, local administrators and security agencies.
