A political storm is gathering in Likuyani Constituency after Team Linda Mwananchi made a bold declaration of support for Nairobi Senator Edwin Watanya Sifuna, declaring that the constituency is firmly behind what it describes as the fast-rising “Sifuna wave.”
In a charged meeting bringing together senior leaders, grassroots mobilizers and members of Team Linda Mwananchi Likuyani Chapter, the group resolved to strengthen its structures and launch an aggressive grassroots mobilization campaign across the constituency.
The meeting was led by Likuyani Team Linda Mwananchi Coordinator John Amala, who said the movement had made a firm political decision and was determined to rally residents behind Sifuna’s political vision.

Amala said no amount of political distraction, intimidation or opposition would stop the growing momentum behind the Linda Mwananchi movement.
“We have sat down as leaders and members of Team Linda Mwananchi in Likuyani and agreed on the way forward. Our position is very clear, Likuyani is standing firmly with Edwin Sifuna. No amount of distraction can stop this train,” Amala said.
He added that the movement was now shifting its focus to the grassroots, where leaders would intensify engagements with residents and strengthen political structures in every part of Likuyani Constituency.
“The Sifuna wave is unstoppable, and Likuyani is firmly on board. We are now going back to the people to organize, mobilize and strengthen our structures. More activities and engagements will be announced soon,” he said.
The declaration signals an intensification of political activities in Likuyani as various leaders and political camps position themselves ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Team Linda Mwananchi leaders said they would continue working closely with the movement’s leadership in Western Kenya under the stewardship of Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya.
According to Amala, consultations with leaders, members and grassroots supporters will continue as the movement develops strategies aimed at expanding its influence throughout the constituency and the wider Western Kenya region.

“We believe in consultation and unity. We shall continue engaging our leaders and members as we move forward. Our structures must be strong, organized and ready for the political journey ahead,” Amala said.
He maintained that the movement was determined to ensure that its message reached villages, markets, towns and communities across Likuyani. The leaders also resolved to hold more meetings in the coming days as part of a wider strategy to consolidate support and recruit more members into the movement.
Political observers are likely to closely watch the developments in Likuyani, a constituency that has increasingly become an important battleground for competing political forces seeking influence in Western Kenya. For Team Linda Mwananchi, however, Amala insisted that the message from Likuyani was already loud and clear.
“We are united. We are organized. We are moving forward. This movement is about the people, and the people are ready to take charge of their political future,” he said.
As the meeting came to an end, the leaders and members delivered one final message that captured the mood of the gathering “LIKUYANI TUMESIMAMA NA SIFUNA!”
