David Wamatsi has unveiled an ambitious education pledge, promising that every child in the constituency would pay just KSh500 per term for day-school education if elected MP, while separately committing to sponsor all children in the family of the late Peter Makonere Wesala.
Wamatsi made the pledges on Saturday when he visited the Makonere family in Bulechia, Mung’ang’a Sub-Location, East Wanga Ward to condole with them following the death of their kin.
“If you elect me as your MP, I will make sure every child pays only KSh500 per term,” Wamatsi pledged.
He said the proposed model is already being implemented in Kiharu Constituency and would form part of his education agenda if residents give him the mandate to represent them in Parliament.
Wamatsi further made a personal commitment to the bereaved family, promising to take responsibility for the education of the children left behind.“To the bereaved, I will sponsor all the children through their education.

“They will never lack under my watch,” he added.
The pledge places education at the centre of Wamatsi’s campaign agenda, with the aspiring legislator promising to ease the financial pressure facing families struggling to keep their children in school.
His commitment to the Makonere family also turned the condolence visit into a pledge of long-term support, as he assured the bereaved that the children’s education would not be interrupted by the loss of their family member.
