Farouk Kibet has led a team of leaders allied to President William Ruto in a major grassroots engagement with boda boda riders in Teso South, Busia County, where the leaders championed economic empowerment for the transport sector.

The leaders converged at Ojamong’ Comprehensive School in Chakol South following an invitation by Hon. Mary Emase for a Boda Boda Empowerment Programme targeting riders and their families.

Kibet and the leaders highlighted the critical role of the boda boda sector in sustaining livelihoods, connecting rural communities and providing affordable transport to thousands of Kenyans.

The programme brought together National Assembly Speaker Dr Moses Wetang’ula, Senator Eddy Oketch, Likuyani MP Innocent Mugabe, Hon. Arthur Osiya, Hon. Geoffrey Odanga and other leaders and wananchi.The leaders said supporting boda boda riders was essential in strengthening grassroots businesses and creating economic opportunities for families dependent on the sector.

The engagement also provided an opportunity for the leaders to interact directly with riders and residents on their economic needs and challenges.
